The Chinese Language and Literature major aims to cultivate international talent equipped with a solid foundation in Chinese language and literature and strong cross-cultural communication skills. Students will delve into the intricacies of the Chinese language and script, explore the essence of Chinese literature and art, and have the opportunity to personally experience China's rich history and culture. This program lays a firm foundation for future development in China or in international fields related to China.

Knowledge System

The professional knowledge system covers three core areas: linguistics, literature, and cultural studies. Students will systematically study the phonetics, vocabulary, grammar, and rhetoric of the Chinese language, grasp the development trajectory and classic works of Chinese literature, and gain an in-depth understanding of traditional Chinese culture, contemporary society, and theories of intercultural communication, thereby forming a comprehensive knowledge structure of Sinology.
